Mother's Day is so close, how will you make your mum's day?
Mothers are irreplaceable. They are always here for us children - in the highs and lows of live. Always supporting, cheering us on whatever we do - solid rocks on the shore. For this reason it is nice to celebrate everything mother's do for us with Mother's Day.
Mother's Day History
Celebrations of mothers and motherhood can be traced back to the ancient Greeks and Romans, who held festivals in honor of the mother goddesses Rhea and Cybele.
In North America, Mother’s Day was created by Anna Jarvis in 1908. She aimed at - in her own words: To "revive the dormant filial love and gratitude we owe to those who gave us birth. (...) To make us better children by getting us closer to the hearts of our good mothers."
By 1911, many American states and Canadian provinces had begun celebrating Mother's Day on the second Sunday in May. This year we celebrate Mother's Day on May 9th.
